Brill, "Mookie" to his fans, is an American roots musician.
Well versed in Blues, Rockabilly and Country music,
he has been at it for well over a quarter century. He
is best known as a bass fiddle player and ocassionally
as an electric bassist.
Recently Mookie has won 3 Blues Music Awards (frmly
W.C. Handy Award) for Bass Player of the year. He is
also an exciting vocalist, and also plays harmonica,
guitar, drums and a bit of mandolin. He has worked with
and/or appeared on recordings with Carey Bell, Billy
Boy Arnold, John Brim, Nappy Brown, Levon Helm, Wanda
Jackson, Louisiana Red, Bob Margolin, Big Bill Morganfield,
Pinetop Perkins, Jimmy Rogers, Steven Segal, Hubert
Sumlin, Kim Wilson, and many others. He currently is
playing bass with blues artists such as Big Bill Morganfield
and Lurrie Bell. Also, he gigs with rockabilly outfit
The Parodi Kings, which features guitarist Mike Hendrix.
Mookie is currently writing and compiling songs in anticipation
of putting out his own record sometime in the near future.
He is also available for session and live gigs, U.S.
and abroad.
